A true Coach is not really in it for themselves, he/she is in it for the athlete and the people they care about. They’re creating a future for the family they’ve chosen, i.e, a happy life for them. (Just imagine sitting on a beach at sunset with your feet in the sand … yeah, that kind of serenity)

Think about it – some Coaches want the glory by living vicariously through their athletes, some Coaches coach because they want to feel powerful and that they have influence over others; the best Coaches just simply care for their loved ones’ success.

It’s a caring and giving mindset. Whether you’re coaching a young kid, a collegiate athlete, a professional athlete, your personal friend asking for advice, or even your own child – you ARE changing the World for the better. The art of coaching should never be lost on anyone, and it applies to athletics as much as life. Success is only achieved through teamwork, and teamwork means love and helpfulness.

It’s beautiful to be able to help someone, anyone, feel just a little happier or perform a little better, even for one minute. The world is so caught up in everything but sheer love at the moment, and that needs to change. Otherwise, we all are worse off. Coaches and Leaders can change this trajectory of madness into a trajectory of love.

Help each other, love each other, and lead the battle against hate.

As always, I don’t shine if you don’t shine.
